What is a qualifying manufactured/mobile home?
Another individual may renew your registration for you, provided that person is able to present your vehicle's registration certificate and proof of insurance. In Florida, vehicles, mobile homes or vessels that are owned by two or more owners can have the ownership joined by either an “and” or “or”. Registration fees are set by the Department of Motor Vehicles and are based on the length of the mobile home. Double wide and triple wide mobile homes are considered two and three separate units respectively. Mobile home owners are required to display the decal in a window clearly visible from the road in front of the home.
If you already renewed your registration but lost the sticker or the license plate, order a replacement online. If your registration is not expiring in the next 3 months and your sticker and/or plate was lost or damaged, get a replacement online. To renew a registration via mobile app, the customer must provide the license plate or vehicle identification number or hull identification number for the vehicle and/or vessel they seek to register to complete the transaction. If FLHSMV is unable to verify valid insurance on the vehicle or vessel, no registration will be issued. Section 320.07, Florida Statutes, specifically requires the delinquent fee to be imposed on any applicant who fails to renew a registration before the end of the month in which renewal registration is due. A numbered decal, instead of a license plate, is issued for identification.
IF YOU OWN JUST THE MOBILE HOME
Customers using MyDMV Portal will receive their registration in the mail within 7-10 business days from the transaction. Customers can receive an emailed confirmation receipt that can be used until the registration arrives in the mail. On the payment confirmation page customers must select ‘yes’, enter an email address, and click ‘Send Email Confirmation’ for the information to be emailed. Mobile homes are required to be registered with a current decal at all times. If a mobile home has a current registration and also has attachments, it may be subject to tangible personal property taxes which are assessed by the Property Appraiser’s office.
Late fees apply if you wait 11 days after the end of the month in which your registration expires. Late fees vary depending on the type of vehicle you own and your length of delinquency. If you're eligible to renew for two years, your renewal fees will double, but your month and day of expiration will not change. If so, check out our Car Registration page to determine how to complete your initial registration. Obtain a duplicate registration certificate if the customer’s registration certificate is lost. If you are a military service member or veteran, please visit the department’s Military and Veteran Information Section.
